Jessica Dupass Hi, I was wondering if I could ask for your help... I need to know what I have to do to get a petition going to remove the Prairie Dogs from the Cedar City Cemetery? My son in buried in the back corner and his decorations have been getting eaten by these pesky things. I have called the cemetery and talked with the man in charge, he said there isn't much more they can do besides what they are doing. He said if they weigh under a certain amount then they just have to re-release them. That and when relocating them they just put them on the other side of their make shift black fence. It's obviously not helping... It's heartbreaking going to visit my baby only to see his stuff is getting destroyed. Please help... Whatever I have to do, I will do it. Thank you so much for your time.

I live on the west side of the freeway up by Paragonah. We never had prairie dogs on our side of the freeway before... until three years ago, when one somehow made its way across the freeway and moved into a field nearby. Last year, there were five or so, and they began crossing the county road. This year, there are about a hundred in that field, and they're moving into other nearby fields.
In the field they first infested, they have now consumed all the vegetation, and there are prairie dog mounds all over it. It used to be a nice grazing land, but now it's useless. Across the road, there are 400 acres of grazing land that are now becoming infested. Some areas close to the road, where the prairie dogs have lived the longest, are already stripped of growth. This is dry pasture, so it needs careful management - and the prairie dogs have upset the balance.
As they move west and north, they come ever closer to my property. We raise goats, and we can't afford to have them devastate our fields like that. People say the prairie dogs are endangered - they look to me like they're having a population explosion.
